BACKGROUND
Digital
technologies
for
health
promotion
have
proliferated
over
the
past
decade,
with
uptake
increasing
steadily
among
young
people,
including
those
in
low-
and
middle-income
countries
(LMICs).
Youth
increasingly
rely
on
digital
tools
information,
early
influence
of
this
technology
can
an
impact
throughout
lifespan.
While
there
is
a
growing
body
literature
opportunities
challenges
(DHP)
gap
remains
research
that
closely
examines
characteristics
strategies
developed
specifically
youth
LMICs.
OBJECTIVE
In
present
paper
we
investigate
compare
selected
examples
DHP
tools,
from
three
sub-Saharan
Africa,
namely
Ghana,
Kenya,
South
Africa.
Our
aim
to
create
multidimensional
descriptive
taxonomy
promote
adolescents
adults
these
countries.
METHODS
We
conducted
systematic
online
searches
using
relevant
keywords,
incorporating
expertise
local
professionals
ensure
thorough
search.
thereafter
created
describing
features
each
tool,
area
focus,
key
stakeholders,
type
service,
ethical
values
explicitly
referenced
within
tool.
RESULTS
A
total
31
were
identified.
Sexual
reproductive
was
most
common
focus
services,
which
primarily
funded
supported
by
NGOs,
foundations,
international
organizations.
The
assessed
predominantly
web
social
media-based,
overarching
goal
core
value
expanding
knowledge
offering
access
services
people.
CONCLUSIONS
With
sustained
investment,
improve
people
while
relieving
pressure
healthcare
services.
Addressing
concerns
such
as
privacy,
transparency,
equity,
inclusiveness
are
essential
safety,
usefulness,
fairness
DHP.
To
achieve
greatest
benefit,
perspectives
priorities
should
be
included
development.
