We decided to compare the incidence and spectrum of pelvic fractures in 2020 affected by anti-pandemic measures due COVID-19 with previous years 2018 2019.This retrospective study included 391 patients treated at author's clinic for fractures. From medical records we recorded gender, age, mechanism injury, trauma energy, fracture type based on AO classification severity injury. As expected, observed no difference number caused simple falls. However, failed prove a reduction high-energy injuries. In contrary, an increase injuries period between lockdowns (p=0.0375). A surprising result was dramatic suicide attempts as cause fractures, 6 (2.2 %) 2019 compared 13 (10 alone (p=0.0017).We increased suicidal only limited specific fractures; therefore, cannot formulate any general conclusions regarding during pandemic. Nevertheless, consider this be warning signal highlighting worsened population mental health pandemic (Tab. 2, Fig. 1, Ref. 34).

Background The COVID-19 pandemic led to several surges in the mass hospitalization rate. Extreme increases hospital admissions without adequate medical resources may increase mortality. No study has addressed impact of daily census ventilated patients on mortality context a nationwide setting. Objective This aimed determine whether affected rates Israel. Methods We conducted cohort using nationwide, public-domain, population-based data hospitalized from an Israeli database March 11, 2020, until February 2021. included all admissions, classified as mild severe per Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention classification irrespective they were mechanically ventilated. Outcome measures death expressed percentage patients. Results During period (338 days 2021), 715,743 contracted clinically confirmed having COVID-19. Among them, 5577 (0.78%) died. In total, 3398 because Daily correlated with (R2=0.828, P<.001). percent also (R2=0.365, P<.001)—backward multiple regression analysis demonstrated that this positive correlation was still highly significant even when correcting average age or gender (R2=0.4328, P<.001) surge their number. Overall, 40% variation explained by variations ANOVA revealed at less than 50 day, slightly above 5%, it nearly doubled (10%) 50-149 patients; moreover, categories ≥200 more tripled ≥15% (P<.001). Conclusions patient increased number patients, suggesting saturation resources. Policy makers should be aware expanding services Governments perform similar analyses provide indicators system saturation, although further validation these results might needed use indicator drive public policy.
