This research explores how government financial support impacts the growth of digital economy, emphasizing influence industrial structure as a moderating factor and variation across different regions. Analyzing panel data from 30 Chinese provinces (2013–2022), Two-Way Fixed Effects (TWFE) model demonstrates that fiscal expenditures on science technology significantly boost economic growth. Robustness tests confirm reliability these findings, endogeneity issues are addressed by utilizing lagged an instrumental variable. The analysis identifies regional disparities, with eastern region demonstrating most pronounced policy effects, followed central western regions, reflecting variations in infrastructure resource utilization. Furthermore, effect underscores higher share tertiary sector strengthens effectiveness support, need for optimizing structures. These findings provide valuable insights promoting balanced sustainable growth, addressing inequalities, advancing modern system.
