The experience of loneliness in old age has gained relevance for social gerontology due to its association with the adverse biopsychosocial health status elderly, significantly impacting quality life age. Therefore, objective this study was understand experiences loneliness, analysing perception risk and protective factors, as well coping strategies used by older people Chile Spain, through a transnational qualitative approach, view identifying influence cultural variables presence problem. This research descriptive which methodologies data collection analysis. participants were 30 both sexes who participated semi-structured interview about their loneliness. main results showed that experienced an emotional disconnection lack intimacy company, mainly family relationships. Among most prominent factors age, gender roles, widowhood, economic limitations, loss autonomy. Protective included active participation, religious practice, participation meaningful activities. As strategies, these ranged from strengthening relationships using digital tools accepting part life. findings underline importance designing interventions focused on inclusion subjective well-being contribute preventing at stage cycle.
