Purpose – This study aims to provide a comprehensive and novel conceptual analysis, revealing the relationship between “moral,” “morality,” “akhlaq,” “character,” examining their similarities differences more understanding of role in Islamic Religious Education (IRE). Design/methods/approach uses an in-depth analysis approach, dissecting these terms through multi-stage process: 1) extensive literature review understand historical contemporary definitions, 2) comparison definitions identify discrepancies, 3) contextual exploration that considers cultural linguistic different societies, 4) theoretical applications based on insights from functionalist theory, Sufi psychology, Tazkiyah theory. Findings The used theory Tazkiyah. Research implications/limitations Originality/value research uniquely explains key moral ethical terms, providing valuable strengthen IRE science, teaching, learning, curriculum development, learning environments. findings may also information for teacher education, educational technology, assessment, development education.
