The concept of degrowth, which advocates for quantitatively more restrained economic growth, is much maligned in mainstream economics. aim this paper to provide constructive critique theory promoting qualitative growth and encourage in-depth professional dialogue. It points out that the current socio-economic configuration does not allow achievement sustainable development, therefore a radical shift towards quality order. then critically reviews degrowth representing growth. In doing so it highlights concept’s shortcomings, ambiguity its nexus with capitalism democracy, neglect relevant role modern industrial policy. addition narrow interpretation concept, transdisciplinary nature transition also explored, incorporating aspects evolutionary science, systems neuroscience. Finally, five insights are elaborated may catalyse research agenda meaningful

Economic cooperation is inherently dynamic, with agents adjusting the frequency, mechanisms, and intensity of their interactions over time. When scaling this behaviour to a large number agents, we obtain complex network where interaction dynamics influence system’s macro-state. This study looks into how topologies impact survival economic cooperation. Specifically, explore effect in sustaining through “saving trait”, feature that promotes cooperative among agents. In our model, similar Stag Hunt (SH) game memory, adapt saving traits based on profitability past others. We simulate seven distinct structures sourced from public repository Netzschleuder analyse robustness trait under topological shocks. From studied networks, recover two equilibria SH for four them. For remaining three, stable mixed states. These findings show topology affects its vulnerability widespread shocks (over 25% edges shifted or added). work contributes interdisciplinary effort understand by integrating insights science, theory, social sciences.
