This study explores the perceptions of academic advising leaders regarding workplace learning for primary-role advisors in United States. research highlights importance self-directed learning, scholarly engagement, and graduate programs professional development advisors. Through semi-structured interviews with 17 NACADA: The Global Community Academic Advising, two themes emerged: engagement understanding field. findings reveal that advisors, as proactive learners, continuously enhance their competencies through formal informal activities, actively engaging literature networks. underscores significance preparing to contribute meaningfully profession. By addressing challenges opportunities this contributes evolution professionalization advising, aligning principles Human Resource Development (HRD). insights gained inform design effective advisor skills knowledge, ultimately leading improved student outcomes advancement bridges a critical gap role continuous growth

This study examines factors influencing self-directed learning (SDL) readiness among operational employees in Thailand's petrochemical industry, involving 873 participants from six major plants Map Ta Phut, Rayong. Utilizing the Person, Process, and Context (PPC) model, this research offers a practical framework for identifying addressing key factors—organizational policies practices, supervisor support, technology, intrinsic motivation—that shape employees’ SDL readiness. The results identify motivation as predominant factor driving readiness, while organizational support also play significant roles. These findings provide predictive model that organizations can use to design strategies aligned with adult education principles, fostering culture of continuous learning. While developed sector, valuable insights guideline application other industries similar employee profiles, helping tailor effectively enhance diverse industrial contexts.
