Abstract Based on the definition of exergy-based efficient ecological-function (EEF) proposed in existing literature, which is product energy conversion coefficient-of-performance ( ɛ ) and E ), this paper will introduce EEF into performance optimization for Carnot refrigerator cycle. Via endoreversible model established previous expression derived based finite-time thermodynamic theory, relationships dimensionless versus cooling load R are studied, differences cycles at maximum EEF, , cooling-load conditions compared. The results demonstrate that parabolic-like ones; actual design, should be designed larger points. When taken as optimization-objective, although decreases slightly, increased, entropy-generation-rate σ greatly decreased, so does not only reflect compromise between but also .
