Abstract Metallic alloys are increasingly being produced using wired arc additive manufacturing (WAAM). In this study, 18Ni300 defect-free maraging steels were the WAAM technique. A traditional solution treatment, direct aging, and cryogenic heat treatment processes applied to steels. The influence of conventional novel treatments on microstructural, mechanical, tribological properties examined. microstructure as-built materials obtained by thermal cycling has mainly been homogenized through solution, direct-aging, treatments. As a result, homogeneously distributed precipitate phases hardness increased 30 % with combination different post improved martensitic transformation facilitated formation various Fe–Ni–Mo–Ti-containing intermetallic precipitates. Similarly, because treatments, wear resistance factor 2–5.5 relative material. Adding procedure improves 1.2–2.9.
