Reddit,
one
of
the
largest
global
social
media
platforms,
has
undergone
significant
transformations
since
its
inception
in
2005.
From
a
loosely
structured,
niche
platform
to
globally
recognized
company
with
standardized
and
regulated
governance
system,
Reddit’s
evolution
been
marked
by
shift
power
dynamics
between
owners,
moderators,
users.
2015
2023
were
occurrence
two
prominent
protests,
termed
“blackouts.”
Moderators
numerous
subreddits,
though
not
all,
disabled
public
access
their
thereby
protesting
company’s
policies

challenging
endeavors

Practices
of
openness
have
grown
popular
across
diverse
domains
(e.g.
open
science,
source
software,
education)
as
they
can
spur
innovation
and
liberalize
society.
But
to
date,
we
know
little
about
how
groups
leaders
achieve
such
goals
through
openness,
largely
because
knowledge
remains
siloed
within
fields.
Thus,
needs
exist
for
interdisciplinary
terminology
guidance
on
"doing
openness."
In
this
Perspective,
address
these
first
by
defining
an
concept
–
organizing
that
describes
people
collectively
pursue
along
dimensions
transparency,
inclusion,
distribution
decision
rights.
Next,
distill
four
lessons
managing
ecosystems:
balanced
organization
design,
transparent
power
allocation,
flexible
information
tools,
intentional
social
norm
development.
We

integrating
expertise
from
academia
industry
multiple

scholarship,
education,
strategy,
innovation).

Abstract
This
paper
presents
an
analytical
mapping
of
institutional
design
possibilities
for
alternative
ways
digital
platforms
to
institutionalise
property
and
corporate
form.
It
builds
on
the
imagination
catalysed
by
three
vignettes
experimental
sharing
economy
initiatives
presented
towards
start
paper,
each
which
highlights
imbrication
interdependence
between
economic
social
dimensions
economy.
The
then
interrogates
through
entry
points
commons-based
economies:
platform,
care
place.
By
remapping
vignettes’
practices
around
these
points,
shows
how
they
help
constitute
incipient
formalisation
approaches
prospects
carrying
out
a
redesign

The
Proof
of
Humanity
(PoH)
registry
was
launched
in
2021
alongside
the
PoH
decentralized
autonomous
organization
(DAO).
"unique
and
singular"
humans
attracted
more
than
17,000
users
laid
foundations
for
emergence
what

as
"the
first
democratically
governed
DAO"
running
on
Ethereum
network.
However,
DAO
faced
a
governance
crisis
that
led
to
decision
fork
November
2022.
This
report
presents
ethnographic
research
findings
based
online
participant
observation,
interviews,
timeline
events,
institutional
mapping
an
attempt
reveal
reasons
behind
DAO's
crisis.

mechanisms,
