The present investigation aimed to enhance the identification of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in water and beverages by employing large-volume injection (LVI) conjunction with membrane-assisted solvent extraction for gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analyses. High-purity solvents isotope-labeled standards were used calibrate create hydrocarbon (PAH) standards. Water samples from polluted rivers India commercially available collected preserved under controlled conditions. Microwave-assisted (MASE) was optimized adjusting temperature pH efficient extraction. extracts analyzed using (GC-MS) a system sensitive PAH detection. MASE-LVI-GC-MS efficiently determined 16 PAHs aqueous optimizing parameters like shaking speed, temperature, composition. Recovery percentages above 65 %, relative standard deviation 6 % guaranteed repeatability 18 during five consecutive extractions. It shown that great sensitivity achieved reaching detection limits within range nanograms per litre. In conclusion, combined GC-MS detects various beverage samples, achieving nanogram-per-liter sensitivity. offers uniform extraction, rapid analysis, reduced use across diverse matrices.

Designing ideal human biomonitoring studies involves the selection of reliable markers exposure in adequate biological matrix. Besides conventional matrices such as blood or urine, hair has been increasingly investigated a promising noninvasive alternative. However, understanding pollutant distribution between differing compartments is essential for interpretation data collected. Therefore, contamination levels and some persistent (8 perfluoroalkyl substances – PFAS 6 polychlorobiphenyls PCBs) non-persistent pollutants (2 bisphenols 3 parabens) were paired serum samples, spot urine samples obtained from 30 Belgian non-occupationally exposed individuals. The measured close to those reported recent larger-scale studies. PFAS, PCB bisphenol distributions largely differed depending upon matrix within same chemical family congener. correlation agreement demonstrated that information provided comparable only highly chlorinated PCBs parabens, while classification was substantially different according thus remains complex might markedly bias results obtained, especially when assessing health risk related exposure.

Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are synthetic or natural compounds that interfere with the endocrine system, inducing harmful effects on organisms depending dose and period of exposure. The risk of post-operatory hypothyroidism and hypocalcaemia, along with recurrent laryngeal nerve injury, is lower following a less-than-total thyroidectomy; however, previously unsuspected carcinoma or disease progression might be detected after initial surgery, hence indicating re-intervention as mandatory (so-called “redo” surgery) completion. Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are emerging environmental endocrine disruptors that may adversely affect the human system, particularly thyroid gland, largest gland in body. An epidemiologic survey was conducted involving 318 community residents Shanghai, China, to assess PFAS exposure levels. The relationship between five function indicators analyzed using Bayesian Kernel Regression (BKMR) Weighted Quantile Sum (WQS). Ten effector genes related diseases were identified through Comparative Toxicogenomics Database (CTD) for bioinformatics analysis pathways involved explored mediation analysis.
