Software-defined network offers a programmable networking environment that redefines the management of conventional and can provide potential solutions for their well-known challenges. In SDN circumstances, energy becomes major threatening factor affects both reliability sustainability its connections. Energy depletion in is still concern considering ever-changing constraints rapid growth number devices. This research article introduces novel energy-efficient branch-and-bound optimization (EE-BBO) algorithm, designed large-scale software-defined networks to overcome challenges faced by existing approaches. The objective EE-BBO algorithm minimize consumption across improve performance. proposed computes lower bounds prioritizing nodes, classifies them based on probable, intelligently forwards packets choose most route. implemented Mininet, using Floodlight as controller OpenFlow communication protocol. results simulations showed outperforms current benchmarked methods terms 9-19%, packet loss 15-28%, enhancing lifetime 14-25%.
