ABSTRACT “Phubbing” (phone snubbing) has been consistently associated with negative intra‐ and interpersonal outcomes across various social contexts. However, the potential impact of phubbing on horizontal workplace relationships not extensively explored. The present study aimed to examine associations between coworker during breaks support community, trust, organizational commitment among electricians in Sweden. An auxiliary aim was adapt validate a scale. In Studies 1a 1b, confirmatory factor analysis used assess scale two samples. Study 2, structural equation modeling relationship included psychosocial work environment measures. Exposure from coworkers lower perceived commitment. were stronger for more severe behaviors. Engaging others considerably linked Younger participants reported engaging exposure phubbing. Smartphone habits at may have implications and, by extension, important such as well‐being, job satisfaction, performance, turnover.
