Mental
health
conditions
in
childhood
and
adolescence
are
increasing
the
U.S.
population
require
early
intervention,
as
highlighted
by
a
recent
Surgeon
General’s
Advisory
on
Protecting
Youth
Health.
These
issues,
which
have
been
exacerbated
COVID-19
pandemic,
impair
functioning,
may
lead
to
longer
term
reductions
quality
of
life.
Young
adolescents
likely
experience
stressors
including
academic
pressure,
feelings
loneliness
isolation,
excessive
exposure
social
media,
all
made
worse
pandemic
associated
disruptions.
Universal
preventive
programs
at
school
serve
an
important
strategy
for
equipping
youth
with
coping
skills
address
current
future
emotional
challenges.
Yoga
mindfulness
emerged
promising
approach
schools
proven
feasible
acceptable.
The
study
evaluated
universal,
school-based
yoga
program
among
aged
11–14
racially
diverse,
urban
setting

Background

youth

BACKGROUND
Characterizing
the
relationship
between
sociodemographic
factors
and
youth
suicide
risk
is
crucial

developing
prevention
