The stable downward continuation method can enhance low amplitude anomalies and improve the resolution of potential fields. However, this may be affected by edge effect. In paper, we results using cubic Hermite interpolation to extend data. Our synthetic model shows that proposed extension provide better estimates, especially at edges, than constant values. We further continued data boundary filters where boundaries obtained from have a higher resolution. methods are also applied interpret RTP magnetic Bouguer gravity Central Highlands (Vietnam), determined multiple-stage method, while calculated Parker formula. spectral analysis fields reveals depth shallow sources in area about 1 km, which determines height continuation. A new subsurface structural map is established for filtered data, will helpful document detailed future explorations geology studies area.

Mapping the boundaries of subsurface geological structures constitutes a fundamental aspect interpreting gravity data. Various methods relying on derivatives have been introduced to delineate these boundaries. However, approaches are not without their limitations, often leading generation false edges or resulting in divergent outcomes. This article introduces novel method that utilizes power law approach and balanced total horizontal derivative for mapping data edges. To assess robustness proposed technique, we conducted tests model examples applied it real case study northwest Vietnam. The results demonstrate our can accurately clearly map comparison existing methodologies, while also preventing spurious output maps.

Enhancement of the boundaries geologic structures is one main goals in interpretation gravity anomalies. A range different algorithms based on field derivatives has been introduced to solve this problem. Among these algorithms, curvature gradient tensor and its modifications are widely used enhancing data. These however, have some limitations such as estimated edges not compatible with actual or bringing false information. In study, I introduce a new technique eigenvalue tensor. The robustness presented exemplified using model studies real-world dataset Vredefort dome (South Africa). show that proposed filter can provide more accurate results avoid artifacts output map. real application result shows good correlation between highlighted by algorithm ring dome.

Abstract Euler deconvolution is widely used for interpreting magnetic anomalies as it estimates the edges and depths of sources. Since this method was proposed, there has been an intensive effort to mitigate its primary deficiencies, namely, generation many spurious solutions high noise sensitivity. To select most significant solutions, we adopt strategy constraining moving window source edges, whose locations are estimated using enhanced horizontal gradient amplitude method. On other hand, reduce propagation by performing a stable calculation vertical derivatives. For purpose, use β-VDR method, finite-difference that yields robust approximation derivatives data. The accuracy proposed technique demonstrated on synthetic anomalies, providing more precisely being insensitive noise. Application also aeromagnetic from Olympic Peninsula (USA), where obtained result in good agreement with known information study region.

A notable feature of volcanic activity in the Halmahera arc since Middle Miocene is that eruptions have occurred episodically from south to north, rather than simultaneously. However, dynamic cause age disparity between northern and southern regions remains unresolved. To investigate this, thermal simulation methods were employed calculate temperature structures subducted slab mantle wedge under varying movement rates subduction overriding plates. Simulation results indicate magmatism favored at lower or higher plate rates. During Miocene, northward drift Australian propelled Obi microplate southward via left-lateral strike-slip faults, accelerating its rate. In contrast, rate north remained lower, unaffected by plate. The accelerated resulted rapid generation a zone, facilitating volcanism on Island late Miocene. Meanwhile, delayed formation favorable high-temperature zone for volcanism, leading emergence Pliocene.
