Background/objectives: recent studies have suggested that components typical of the Mediterranean diet (MedDiet) are associated with depression and anxiety prevention. In this sense, main objective study was to analyse associations between adherence MedDiet symptoms examine whether relationship is mediated by lean mass muscle strength index (MSI). Methods: a cross-sectional (based on data obtained from Nuts4Brain-Z study) conducted 2023–2024, involving 428 university students, aged 18–30 years, Spanish public university. Depression assessed using Beck Inventory (BDI-II), via General Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) tool. Adherence MEDAS questionnaire. Lean bioimpedance, MSI measured dynamometer. ANCOVA models were used test mean differences in scores categories (low < 9 points vs high ≥ points). Serial multiple mediation models, adjusted for confounders, explore role relationships symptoms. Results: students exhibited lower (p 0.05) than did low MedDiet. The analysis preliminarily revealed both acted as mediators anxiety. Conclusion:adherence per se does not appear direct effect because these partially (for depression) or entirely anxiety) explained MSI.

Objective This scoping review evaluates the breadth of research on avocado intake and health, considering all populations health outcomes (registered Open Science Foundation at https://osf.io/nq5hk). Design Any human intervention or observational study where effects could be isolated to consumption were included. A systematic literature search through April 2024 was conducted (PubMed, Web Science, Scopus, CENTRAL) supplemented by backwards citation screening. Dual screening, data extraction, conflict resolution performed three reviewers an interactive evidence map created. Results After deduplication, 8,823 unique records retrieved; 58 articles met inclusion criteria, comprising 45 studies (28 interventions, 17 studies). Studies largely in United States Latin America generally included adults, with overweight/obesity, frequently elevated lipid concentrations. Interventions assessed impact diets enriched monounsaturated fatty acids, higher/lower carbohydrates, free-feeding conditions. Larger amounts avocados used interventions than commonly consumed (60–300 vs. 0–10 g/d, respectively). Blood lipids, nutrient bioavailability, cardiovascular risk, glycemia, anthropometric variables most common reported across studies. Conclusion Future recommendations for novel include of: European, Asian, adolescent younger, senior populations; dose–response designs longer length interventions; dietary compensation; need greater replication. The results have been made public freely available, a visual, created aid science translation. should enable future meta-analyses, enhance communication transparency research, serve as resource policy guidance.

The association between the Mediterranean diet (MED) and dietary approach to stop hypertension (DASH) with some mental disorders is well-documented. However, a consistent relationship young adults as vulnerable population has yet be known. Therefore, we aimed investigate relation Iranian male adults' mood happiness state DASH/MED patterns. Participants' mean age was 23.65 ± 1.74 years, within range of 18-28 their BMI 24.23 3.82 kg/m². After adjusting for all covariates, those in highest DASH tertile had 54% lower odds poor compared lowest (OR = 0.46; 95%CI: 0.24, 0.88). An inverse also found low scores T3 vs. T1 0.51, 0.27, 0.96). No significant MED or happiness. results showed that participants who adhered more closely were less likely report being unhappy having mood. Further prospective studies are required confirm these findings.

University students are particularly susceptible to mental health issues. The association between adherence the Mediterranean Diet and in this population remains inconclusive. To address gap, we studied diet aspects: depression, anxiety, stress, among a sample of university Lebanon. This was cross-sectional study using an online survey. survey included Patient Health Questionnaire-4 (PHQ-4) evaluate symptoms depression Perceived Stress Score (PSS) assess stress levels, Adherence Screener (MEDAS) measure diet. Socio-demographic lifestyle-related questions were also assessed. Descriptive, bivariate, multivariate analyses conducted. 200 included: 64 % being females, 58.5 studying private universities, 69.5 seniors. mean PHQ4-anxiety subscale 3.61 (out total 6) 71.5 met criteria for anxiety diagnosis; PHQ4-depression 4.04 77 diagnosis, PSS 21.18 39). MEDAS 6.42 14). There significant inverse scores (β=-0.110, 95 %CI: -0.196; -0.024) (β=-0.327, -0.546; -0.107). no depression. We found poor low students. Higher associated with lower levels. Randomized trials needed confirm our findings.

Conclusion: Adherence beneficial some domains functioning. Dietary patterns are important mental health adolescence.
