Abstract
This
study
evaluated
the
peri-implant
tissues
under
normal
conditions
and
influence
of
experimental
peri-implantitis
(EPI)
in
osseointegrated
implants
installed
maxillae
rats
treated
with
oncologic
dosage
zoledronate.
Twenty-eight
senescent
female
underwent
extraction
upper
incisor
placement
a
titanium
dental
implant
(DI).
After
eight
weeks
was
installated
transmucosal
healing
screw
on
DI.
nine
weeks,
following
groups
were
formed:
VEH,
ZOL,
VEH-EPI
ZOL-EPI.
From
9th
until
19th,
VEH
received
vehicle
ZOL
ZOL-EPI
At
14th
week,
cotton
ligature
around
DI
to
induce
EPI.

euthanasia
performed,

Interleukin-1

(IL-1β),
