Human larva migrans is a zoonotic disease caused by larvae of various nematode species, with all previously confirmed pathogens originating from mammalian reservoirs. In 2020, case series in Vietnam reported instances cutaneous avian eyeworm the Oxyspirura genus. This genus, belonging to Thelaziidae family, includes 84 species that mainly parasitize eyes bird species. They utilize different arthropod intermediate hosts, such as cockroaches, grasshoppers, and crickets, their life cycle. Although 18S sequences were analyzed, precise identification pathogen at level remains inconclusive. study aims identify exact causative agent analyzing patient adult eyeworms collected chickens raised his family using morphological molecular methods. Molecular analysis rDNA, ITS2, cox1 revealed genetic identity between chickens, well mansoni Thailand Bangladesh. Additionally, examinations further chicken mansoni. These findings confirm O. are responsible for human migrans, marking first confirmation birds (chickens) causing an emerging neglected tropical humans. Given widespread distribution this nematode, research crucial investigate disease, not only but also other regions. Understanding appropriate treatments transmission routes essential prevent infections both
