For over two decades, robotic-assisted thoracic surgery (RATS) has revolutionized oncology. With enhanced visualization, dexterity, and precision, RATS reduced blood loss, shortened hospital stays, sped up recovery compared to traditional or video-assisted thoracoscopic (VATS). The use of 3D high-definition imaging articulated instruments allows for complex resections advanced lymph node assessment. delivers oncological outcomes similar open VATS, with high rates complete (R0) acceptable complication rates. Its minimally invasive nature promotes quicker recovery. Advances in software augmented reality further enhance surgical accuracy reduce intraoperative risks. However, some limitations, including costs a lack tactile feedback, certain procedures, such as extended intrapericardial interventions, remain challenging. growing experience technological advances, shows promise reducing morbidity, improving quality life, expanding access oncologic care. This article reviews the evolution, benefits, limitations NSCLC treatment, highlighting its emerging role managing cases.
