This article presents a comparative study of the sociocultural adaptation international students coming to Russia from neighboring (former Soviet republics) and distant countries studying at universities South Russian region. The preliminary overview studies reflects different contexts in which problem is studied: economic, political, ethno-cultural-differential, socio-identitarian. It noted that approach organization educational process groups characterized by its integrative nature. implementation tasks includes communicative opportunities for adaptation. increases well-being everyday life. At same time, concern quality advanced teaching technologies affects prestige and, consequently, economic competitiveness university status higher education. various aspects students’ – psychological (resources) (expression) was conducted on group 397 individuals, mainly with Eastern culture, 247 men 150 women. Among them, 110 were countries, 287 countries. We used an express diagnosis method developed based adapted version “Self-assessment adaptability” A.L. Svensitsky scales “Social commitment country” “Cultural questionnaire S.V. Frolova. Spearman rank correlation coefficient statistical analysis obtained data. respondents both subgroups showed similar between resources their expressions p 0.01. significant differences samples found indicators. who came (Asian African countries) low (active communicative) potential successful adaptation, while they had high expectations Improving through means can be achieved combining academic work problem-solving activities educational, vocational, social, communication domains. Students claims social ties but simultaneously distance cultural values. In this case, educators would effective if continued develop positive dynamics intercultural relations incorporate traditions interethnic good neighborliness territory southern region Russia.
