The well-documented relationship between chronological age and the sperm methylome has allowed for construction of epigenetic clocks that estimate biological based on DNA methylation, which we previously termed (SEA). Our lab demonstrated SEA is positively associated with time taken to achieve pregnancy; however, its semen parameters unknown. A total 379 men from Longitudinal Investigation Fertility Environment (LIFE) study, a non-clinical cohort, 192 seeking fertility treatment Sperm Environmental Epigenetics Development Study (SEEDS) were included in study. Semen analyses conducted both cohorts, was generated using machine learning algorithm methylation array data. Association via multivariable linear regression models adjusting BMI smoking status. We found not standard characteristics SEEDS LIFE cohorts. However, significantly higher head length perimeter, presence pyriform tapered sperm, lower elongation factor study (p < 0.05). Based our results, mostly defects morphological factors are less commonly evaluated during male infertility assessments. shows promise be an independent biomarker quality assess fecundity.

Summary In Western diets, high consumption of meat and dairy products, known to be rich in branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), including leucine (Leu), isoleucine (Ile), valine (Val), as well BCAAs supplementation itself, may have unforeseen consequences on sperm quality. addition, bodybuilders are increasingly resorting BCAA build-up their muscle mass. This study aimed assess the effect dietary BCAAs, provided alone or combination, semen parameters, apoptotic gene expression, blood acid (AA) profiles. To address this question determine whether these different a distinct impact quality testicular homeostasis, fifty NMRI mature male mice were exposed not supplementations (control diet: CTR; CTR + Leu supplementation; Ile Val all three supplementation). Only resulted significant decrease concentration viability. only was associated with dramatic increase immotility. The Bax/Bcl2 ratio, an indicator apoptosis, found significantly higher testes BCAA-supplemented animals when compared other groups. Caspase3 expression also Val-supplemented animals. There no differences plasma AA profiles between Thus, amongst appears carry greatest functional parameters status.
