Neuroticism is a personality trait associated with the risk of affective disorders and perinatal depression. We investigated relationship between different levels neuroticism, psychological characteristics, depressive symptoms in sample pregnant women (N = 2631) who accessed gynecology departments Puglia Region (Italy) from July 2020 to November 2022. Women were assessed for factors their third trimester pregnancy (T0) after childbirth (T1), followed-up at 6 months 1 year delivery if presenting signs depression (T2–T3). The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) was used screen symptoms, neuroticism through subscales NEO Five Factor Inventory. Standardized measures resilience, coping strategies, partner attachment, quality life also employed. Higher significantly with: (a) higher scores on EPDS; (b) anxiety experience close relationships; (c) lower wellbeing; (d) resilience; (e) active coping; (f) self-blame. Our findings may suggest that specific factor should be routinely clinical screening order promote an early referral or psychiatric support services.

Background: The shifting reproductive age of women is reflected in European populations. Pregnancy older than 35 years considered high-risk and can be an additional source stress. aim this study was to assess the perceived stress experiencing late motherhood coping strategies used. Methods: conducted Poland by means a diagnostic survey, using COPE (Coping Orientation Problems Experienced) Inventory, Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), Berlin Social Support Scales (BSSS), self-administered questionnaire. included 310 who gave birth their first child after 313 respondents control group before age. Conclusions: Women giving more likely use including active coping, planning, positive reformulation, acceptance, turning religion, seeking instrumental support.

Abstract Peripartum depression (PPD) is a major complication of pregnancy and many risk factors have been associated with its development, including dysfunctional coping strategies insecure attachment styles, both during postpartum. The aim our study was to investigate the role in mediating relationship between women’s style PPD pregnancy, one week after childbirth, large cohort women. We hypothesized that anxious avoidant would be mediated by use maladaptive strategies. assessment instruments were Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), Brief Coping Orientation for Problem Experiences (COPE), Close Relationship (ECR). results indicated effect styles (anxious attachment) on antepartum depressive symptomatology partially styles. Anxious has also an indirect significant postpartum through emotional coping; however, does not seem significantly related depression. Our findings revealed only it important consider understanding but plays these relationships. These help preventive coping-based intervention strategy enhance capacity women more adaptive pregnancy.
