Psychological Impacts of COVID-19 and Its Associated Factors Among People Living in Abha City, Saudi Arabia

Background:
The

coronavirus
(COVID-19)
infection
is
primarily
transmitted
through
respiratory

an

person
and
contact
with
tainted
surfaces
or
items.

distancing

the
primary

Methodology:
A
descriptive
cross-sectional
community-based
conducted
in
city
population
August
2021
July
22.
This
followed
snowball
sampling,
data
collected
using
online
Google
form
link
shared
WhatsApp
groups
emails
contacts,
asking
friends
share
their
friends,
until
reaching
adequate
sample
size
responses
were
accepted.
Results:
total
530
participated,
age
ranged
19
-70
years.
Many
participants
(34.5%,
n=183)
belonged
36-45
years
old.
Most
responders
69.8%
married
Females
(69.2%,
n=367).
Half
had
been
quarantined
(49.6%),
51.5%
scared
fear
COVID-19.
64.8%
depression;
14.2%,
20.8%,
13.6%,
16.2%
mild,
moderate,
severe,
extremely
severe
depression,
respectively.
Around
58.2%
suffered
anxiety;
5.8%
experienced
mild
anxiety,
21.7%
moderate
30.7%
proportion
stress
45.0%;
10.8%
stress,
9.4%
24.5%
stress.
Conclusions:
poses
mental
health
problems
individuals
communities.
There
need
more
susceptible

This
research
assesses
the
social
and
economic
effects
of
ABHA
Project;
a
CSR
intervention
by
Tata
Power
DDL
targeting
vulnerable
groups
in
North
West
Delhi.
It
is
expected
to
include
services
for
development
deprived
communities,
which
them
mean
they
will
address
healthcare,
education,
employment
services.
The
method
used
study
was
ethnographic
included
direct
observation,
surveys,
interviews.
examines
social,
community
impact
project
towards
empowering
society
enhancing
status
society.
According
data
collected,
living
standards
beneficiaries
were
significantly
improved,
income
sources
enhanced.
Nevertheless,
some
issues
concerning
distribution
resources
sustainability
programs
raised.
Patterns
found
with
help
affinity
diagrams
order
evaluate
advantages
disadvantages
participants.
Based
on
findings
this
research,
following
recommendations
are
made
Power’s
future
practices,
especially
expansion
ensure
delivery
maximum
impact.
