This study focuses on the development and characterization of a series six new dansyl derivatives (L1 to L6) their integration into PMMA polymers for application in environmental sensing. The photophysical properties these were extensively studied various solvents solid state. A remarkable positive solvatochromic effect was observed, indicating potential microenvironmental polarity assessment. demonstrated selective sensing capabilities Cu2+ Hg2+ metal ions, with formation mononuclear species. Additionally, acid-base responsive nature explored, revealing pH-sensitive applications. incorporation resulted sensitive materials suitable monitoring, particularly detecting hazardous gases changes pH levels. overcomes solubility limitations compounds extends applicability diverse scenarios.
