Dinoflagellates belonging to Hematodinium are important parasites of marine crustaceans, primarily dec-apods. In this study, we document the first report H. perezi Chatton & Poisson, 1930 on African Atlantic coast. This is also parasite record in invasive American blue crab Callinectes sapidus Rathbun, 1896 Morocco. Specimens C. were sampled winter 2023 from two Ramsar sites coast Morocco, namely Merja Zerga and Oualidia Lagoons, screened detect presence their hemolymph. Based staining fresh hemolymph smears, did not de-tect any 36 investigated individuals (20 16 lagoons, respectively), probably due methodological artifacts. The PCR-based method was revealed be more accurate diagnosing parasite. It showed that 13 crabs infected by at Lagoon (prevalence 65%) four (25%). Ge-netic analysis, based ITS1 rDNA gene Hematodinium, confirmed sequences as being those perezi.
