The
Deposit-Return
System
for
Recyclable
Packaging
(DRS)
has
recently
been
implemented
in
many
countries
to
improve
packaging
waste
management
and
support
circular
economy
objectives.
However,
this
mechanism
encountered
difficulties.
present
study
analyses
the
effectiveness
of
DRS
first
10
months
its
operation
Romania,
focusing
on
spatial
inequalities
recycling
behaviour,
socioeconomic
factors
that
influence
level
user
participation,
perceptions
effectiveness.
Combining
cartographic
analysis,
indicators
correlations,
media
sentiment
we
discover
key
barriers

rural
areas,
infrastructure
limits,
public
trust
challenges.

show
a
correlation
between
rates
such
as
educational
attainment,
economic
well-being,
urbanisation.

There
has
been
debate
recently
on
how
the
population
in
traditional
mining
areas
of
Central
and
Eastern
Europe
face
precarity
marginalization.
A
spatial
approach
was
employed
a
Romanian
context
using
available
statistical
data
south
Carpathian
area
(i.e
Gorj
County),
surveys
in-depth
interviews
with
residents
one
rural
communities
Gorj.
Our
findings
highlight
that
large
number
localities
this
county
are
technically,
economically,
socially
underdeveloped.
Many
inhabitants
lack
financial
resources
employment
opportunities,
which
led
to
emigration
young
people
larger
cities
or
other
countries.
We
conclude
order
avoid
much
deeper
social
marginalization
local
inhabitants,
an
integrated
strategy
is
needed
target
economic
development,
investment
infrastructure
public
services,
promotion
training
better
integrate
culture
traditions
into
tourism.

There
has
recently
been
discussion
regarding
how
heritage
rural
areas
are
culturally
affected
by
recent
urban-to-rural
migration.
However,
little
research
conducted
on
the
form
this
process
takes
in
post-communist
contexts.
Taking
a
geography
approach
to
some
Romanian
sites,
study
foregrounds
narratives
based
interviews
with
local
people
two
villages
southern
Transylvania
that
were
formerly
inhabited
different
ethnicities.
The
results
point
quite
perceptions
of
cultural
landscape
changes
villages.
Although
both
communities
consciously
seek
preserve
and
maintain
sense
place
is
rooted

those
who
migrate
from
urban
