India, a land of villages, has over two-thirds its population residing in rural areas, primarily dependent on agriculture. Democracy thrives at various levels, including local governance through panchayats, which play crucial role decentralized administration. Panchayats, constitutionally recognized, focus social justice and economic development, covering areas like agriculture, education, disaster management. However, they often limit “connectivity” to physical infrastructure, overlooking technological connectivity. The government made strides adopting modern connectivity solutions, but implementation faces challenges infrastructure deficits, low awareness, environmental concerns. While telecom decisions are centrally managed, effective relies bodies. This paper explores the panchayats face B5G 6G technologies offers suggestions for overcoming these hurdles.
