Objective: To explore the complications of long‐term placement Montgomery T silicone stent (T - tube) in treatment subglottic benign airway stenosis (SBAS) and timing successful tube removal. Methods: We retrospectively collected clinical data 32 patients with SBAS who underwent analyzed their removal tube. Results: There were 22 males 10 females, aged from 21 to 79 years (60.9 ± 13.7 years). The tubes successfully placed all patients, 6 (18.8%) mild by intravenous conscious sedation. longest follow‐up period was 60.4 months, 17 (53.1%) had for more than 12 months; 5 (15.6%) changed tracheostomy cannula after unplanned various reasons; removed 9 (28.1%), duration 5.2–22.7 months (12.1 6.3 months), among them anatomical (100%). Secretion retention observed (100%), granulation tissue hyperplasia normal ventilation not affected most bronchoscopic follow‐up; 3 due severe complications. no significant difference incidences secretion between time point at 1 week, month, p > 0.05. In severity significantly different, < 0.05, however, there hyperplasia, Conclusions: is safe effective SBAS. increased For stenosis, can be attempted about year follow‐up.
