Background: The Latino health paradox is the phenomenon whereby recent immigrants have, on average, better outcomes some indicators than who have lived in United States longer and US-born Latinos non-Latino Whites. This study examined whether holds after accounting for care access utilization. Methods: 2019-2020 National Health Interview Survey data were used. main predictors included population groups of foreign-born (Mexican or non-Mexican) versus Predicted probabilities (self-reported poor/fair health, overweight/obesity, hypertension, coronary heart disease, diabetes, cancer, depression) calculated stratified by length residence (<15 ≥15 years) among sex (female male). Multivariable analyses adjusted having a usual source other emergency department, insurance, doctor visit past 12 months, predisposing enabling factors, survey year. Results: After adjusting access, utilization, Latinos, including those living years, had lower predicted most Whites, except overweight/obesity diabetes. higher diabetes probability depression Conclusions: In this national survey, was observed utilization suggesting that, although these are important factors good they do not necessarily explain paradox.
