Sub-health status (SHS) refers to the physical condition in which a person falls between being healthy and having disease. The sub-health of medical students is related many factors. aim this study explore current situation factors from perspective health ecology, provide basis for formulation intervention measures improve level students. data came nationwide cross-sectional survey conducted June-August 2022, covering 32 provinces autonomous regions mainland China. Multi-stage random sampling was used recruit. 30,505 valid questionnaires were finally collected. According purpose study, subjects A total 1878 included study. Binary stepwise logistic regression back propagation neural network (BPNN) influencing sub-health. prevalence among China 57.5%. Results revealed that negative life events (odds ratio [OR] = 1.64; 95%CI 1.31-2.04), anxiety (OR 1.97; 1.27-3.10), depression 1.80; 1.30-2.51), second-hand smoke exposure 1.32; 1.06-1.64), problematic Internet use 1.15; 1.12-1.17), perceived stress 1.16; 1.10-1.22) identified as risk students, literacy found be protective factor 0.96 (95%CI 0.94-0.98). increased with increasing smartphone 1-2 h 1.34; 1.03-1.73) ≥ 2 1.44; 1.05-1.98). Four important variables determined according BPNN results: stress, use, depression, literacy. Medical have high rate SHS, indicating it's pressing public issue them. Factors like mental health, internet problems, are linked SHS occurrence group. This provides scientific early identification high-risk groups, reference developing personalized based on ecology.
