This dissertation explores the effects of neuroinflammation on emotional abnormalities in two mouse models neuropsychiatric disorders: chronic stress-induced depression and a transgenic model Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It investigates 'double-hit' stress systemic inflammation, revealing exacerbated depressive-like behavior. The role pro-inflammatory enzyme cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) predisposition to is examined, highlighting link between depressive syndrome. study concludes by comparing therapeutic potential celecoxib (COX-2 inhibitor) citalopram (antidepressant), suggesting that anti-inflammatory measures, including coxibs, could be valuable preventing treating neurodegenerative conditions. research underscores importance understanding interplay etiological environmental factors disorders for improved translational research.
