The maintenance of bone homeostasis is dynamically regulated by osteoblast-mediated formation and osteoclast-mediated resorption. Abnormal differentiation osteoclast insufficient osteoblast production can cause diseases such as osteoporosis. As one the highly conserved catabolic pathways in eukaryotic cells, autophagy plays an important role maintaining cell homeostasis, stress injury repair, proliferation differentiation. Numerous studies have found that activity essential for survival, function regulation affect metabolism osteoblasts osteoclasts, thus affecting homeostasis. Therefore, using a theme, this review outlines basic process autophagy, relationship between summarizes latest research progress common autophagic signaling osteoclasts. regulatory effects protein molecules natural compounds on pathway osteoclasts discovered current are summarized discussed. This will help to further clarify mechanism osteoporosis, understand propose new therapeutic strategies ideas anti-osteoporosis.

Acute myocardial infarction remains the leading cause of death in humans. Timely restoration blood perfusion to ischemic myocardium most effective strategy treatment acute infarction, which can significantly reduce morbidity and mortality. However, after flow reperfusion, injury will aggravate induce apoptosis cardiomyocytes, a process called ischemia-reperfusion injury. Studies have shown that loss cardiomyocytes caused by oxidative stress, iron load, increased lipid peroxidation, inflammation mitochondrial dysfunction, etc., are involved In recent years, with in-depth research on pathology injury, people gradually realized there is new form cell pathological namely ferroptosis. A number studies found tissue patients changes closely related ferroptosis, such as metabolism disorder, reactive oxygen species free radicals. Natural plant products resveratrol, baicalin, cyanidin-3-O-glucoside, naringenin, astragaloside IV also exert therapeutic effects correcting imbalance these ferroptosis-related factors expression levels. Combining our previous studies, this review summarizes regulatory mechanism natural intervening ferroptosis order provide reference information for development targeted inhibitor drugs cardiovascular diseases.

Abstract Background Natural compounds can positively impact health, and various studies suggest that they regulate glucose‒lipid metabolism by influencing short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs). This is key to maintaining energy balance normal physiological functions in the body. review explores how SCFAs glucose lipid natural modulate these processes through SCFAs. provides a healthier approach treating disorders future. Methods article reviews relevant literature on glycolipid from PubMed Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). It also highlights range compounds, including polysaccharides, anthocyanins, quercetins, resveratrols, carotenoids, betaines, modulation SCFA pathway. Results enrich SCFA-producing bacteria, inhibit harmful operational taxonomic unit (OTU) abundance intestinal transport rate gut microbiota affect content intestine. However, most have been conducted animals, lack clinical trials, involve fewer target More research needed support conclusions develop interventions. Conclusions are crucial for human health produced mainly via dietary fiber fermentation. Eating foods rich fruits, vegetables, tea, coarse foods, hinder bacterial growth promote beneficial proliferation, thus increasing levels regulating metabolism. By investigating pathway, novel insights directions glucolipid be provided.

Acute inflammation may develop into chronic, life-threatening inflammation-related diseases if left untreated or there are persistent triggering factors. Cancer, diabetes mellitus, stroke, cardiovascular diseases, and neurodegenerative disorders some of the affecting millions people worldwide. Despite that, conventional medical therapy such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) is associated with serious adverse effects; hence, an urgent need for a newer safer therapeutic alternative from natural sources. Iridoids naturally occurring heterocyclic monoterpenoids commonly found in Rubiaceae plants. Plant extracts family were demonstrated to have medicinal benefits against neurodegeneration, inflammation, oxidative stress, hyperglycaemia, cancer. However, effects iridoids derived well their prospective impacts on vitro vivo not been thoroughly explored. The databases PubMed, Scopus, Web Science searched pertinent articles accordance PRISMA-ScR guidelines. A total 31 studies potentials identified. According current research, genipin, geniposide, monotropein most researched that reduce inflammation. These primarily act by attenuating inflammatory cytokines mediators via inhibition NF-κB signalling pathway various disease models. comprehensive overview research properties presented this review, highlighting characteristics experimental models used mechanisms action these iridoids. For many centuries, Gardenia (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) was highly valued as a food homologous Chinese herbal medicine with various bioactive compounds, including crocin I and geniposide. However, the functional mechanism underlying hypoglycemic effect of gardenia is absent in literature. To evaluate its different extracts on type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) vivo vitro experiments, dried powder extracted using 60% ethanol eluted at concentrations to obtain corresponding purified fragments. After that, active chemical compositions fragments were analyzed HPLC. Then, effects compared experiments. Finally, characterized UPLC-ESI-QTOF-MS/MS mass spectrometric fragmentation pathway two main geniposide I, identified. The experimental results indicated that inhibitory 40% EGJ (crocin I) α-glucosidase better than 20% (geniposide) vitro. T2DM animal presumed potentially mechanisms between T2DM. This research demonstrated hypoglycemia from not only one target but provides background for deep processing utilization.

Iridoids are secondary plant metabolites that multitarget compounds active against various diseases. structurally classified into iridoid glycosides and non-glycosidic iridoids according to the presence or absence of intramolecular glycosidic bonds; additionally, can be further subdivided carbocyclic secoiridoids. These monoterpenoids belong cyclopentan[c]-pyran system, which has a wide range biological activities, including antiviral, anticancer, antiplasmodial, neuroprotective, anti-thrombolytic, antitrypanosomal, antidiabetic, hepatoprotective, anti-oxidant, antihyperlipidemic anti-inflammatory properties. The basic chemical structure in plants (the ring scaffold) is biosynthesized by enzyme synthase using 8-oxogeranial as substrate. With advances phytochemical research, many with novel outstanding activity have been identified recent years. Biologically derivatives found variety families, Plantaginaceae, Rubiaceae, Verbenaceae, Scrophulariaceae. potential modulating events This review highlights includes compilation publications on pharmacology iridoids. Several vitro vivo models used, along results, also included paper. paper's systematic summary was created searching for relevant material websites such Google Scholar, PubMed, SciFinder Science Direct, others. will provide researchers thorough understanding its congeners, help designing large number strong impact curing
