Objective Acupuncture, acknowledged as a potent non-pharmacological therapy, is frequently employed to alleviate pain. Despite its widespread use, there has been lack of overarching bibliometric analysis clinical research on acupuncture analgesia. We aimed summarize current patterns, hotspots, and development trends in this field through analysis. Methods This study evaluates academic publications retrieved from the Web Science database (2010.01–2023.09) concerning analgesia settings. All primary secondary studies humans were included. To track global developmental trends, we several software for analyzing annual publication volumes, countries/regions, institutions, authors, cited journals, references, keywords draw collaborative networks reference co-citation network maps. Results The final search encompassed 7,190 relevant studies, including 1,263 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) 1,293 systematic reviews meta-analyses. results indicated gradual increase number practice. Among countries China (2,139) Chengdu University Traditional Chinese Medicine (258) ranked first. Liang FR (89 articles) was most prolific author, while MacPherson H (604) author. MEDICINE (455) productive journal, Pain (2,473/0.20) first both frequency centrality journals. Notably, review individual patient data carried out chronic pain that published by Vickers Andrew J 2012 (156). Burst identified frontier areas 2010–2020, encompassing meta-analysis, case reports, dry needling, lumbar disc herniation, cancer, post-herpetic neuralgia, insomnia, Conclusion outlines potential future hotspots over past decade. Findings emphasize necessity enhanced international collaboration improve output translation.
