Background:
Among
the
available
pharmacological
treatments
for
acute
major
depressive
disorder
(MDD),
vortioxetine,
a
serotonin
transporter
inhibitor
(SERT),
has
been
widely
used
its
multimodal
action
on
neurotransmission,
which
produces
essential
changes
also
glutamate,
gamma
amino
butyric
acid
(GABA),
norepinephrine,
acetylcholine,
and
dopamine.
Aim:
This
systematic
review
meta-analysis
aimed
to
evaluate
efficacy
of
vortioxetine
across
multiple
dosing
whether
there
is
dose–response
effect
as
well
issue
with
respect
side
effects
in
depression.
Methods:
According
PRISMA
guidelines,
we
systematically
searched
three
electronic
databases
(PubMed/MEDLINE,
PsycINFO,
Cochrane
Central
Register
Controlled
Trials)
Randomized
Trial
(RCT)
studies
published
between
January
2013
April
2024.
Twenty-four
were
included
two
meta-analyses
conducted
determine
mean
Montgomery–Asberg
Depression
Rating
Scale
(MADRS)
scale
values
placebo
groups
differ
significantly
from
MADRS
group
receiving
10
mg
or
20
mg.
Results:
Vortioxetine
improved
depression
severity,
anxiety
symptoms,
cognitive
function,
high
response
remission
rates
MDD.
It
was
tolerated
relatively
low
occurrence
severe
serious
treatment-emergent
adverse
events
(TEAEs).
Observing
results
meta-analysis,

Anhedonia
is
a
key
psychiatric
symptom
that
has
seen
significant
advances
in
its
understanding
both
clinical
practice
and
research
over
the
past
few
decades.
Once
considered
primarily
feature
of
depression,
recent
studies
have
shown
anhedonia
also
core
element

disorders
contributes

morbidity,

suicidality.
