While resilience research has boomed, been conceptualized and operationalized in multiple ways. The aim of the present study is to compare a traditional measure resilience, Brief Resilient Coping Scale, with within-person process indicators from an experience sampling measures (ESM). Method: In spring 2021, sample 186 teachers southern Finland completed startup session followed by 8-day ESM period, momentary reports on stressful events (workload, social interactions), positive negative affect twice day. As expected, variation was predicted events. However, contrary expectations, stress reactivity not BRCS. results are discussed terms measurement, connection Kahnemans theories experiencing remembering self.

A large number of studies have been conducted to demonstrate that job stress negatively affects construction workers’ physiological safety behaviors, but there is a lack research on the impact psychosocial behaviors workers, which an important component overall workplace safety. This study modeled effects between three stressors (the itself, insecurity, and family-work conflict) behavior sub-dimensions (psychosocial compliance participation), using psychological resilience as mediating variable. Data were obtained from 304 workers in China. The results showed positive negative stressors, sub-dimensions, resilience. Psychological was mediated differently across sub-dimensions. reveals mechanisms by provides more empirical evidence unravel relationships various In addition, this paper discusses measures improve based perspectives

Research on resilience is a growing field, and has been conceptualized operationalized in multiple ways. The aim of this study was to compare the Brief Resilient Coping Scale (BRCS), conventional measure resilience, with within-person process indicators derived from experience sampling method (ESM). A sample 177 teachers southern Finland participated study, commencing startup session followed by an 8-day ESM period. Through twice-daily prompts, participants reported their immediate positive negative affect as well recent stressors encountered, such workload challenging social interactions. As expected, variation predicted stressors. However, contrary expectations, individual differences affective reactivity were not BRCS (β [95% CI] = −.20, [−.51, .11]; β .33, [−.07, .69]). Item response theory analyses revealed problems precision. results call into question validity measuring using single administrations retrospective self-report questionnaires BRCS.
