The COVID-19 pandemic put science in the spotlight like no other event before, but also created room for uncertainties, misinformation, and speculation. We used a qualitative research design conducted semi-structured interviews with 13 scientists from various disciplines Austria to shed light on their experiences challenges communication during as well wishes expectations future. most frequently mentioned by refer lack of time engage communication, uncertainty due insufficient training dealing discrepancies between scientific advice political decisions, public skepticism towards science. Although almost all interviewees reported personal attacks via email social media after appearances, they emphasized importance transparency openness build trust understanding processes, despite such attacks. From scientists’ perspective future strategies should involve integrating into university curricula expanding education schools. The COVID-19 pandemic has hit the tourism and hospitality industries hard, posing health risks to consumers vastly affecting their psychology behavior. Drawing on protection motivation theory self-determination theory, this study investigates hotel consumers’ brand preferences between strong brands others during crisis underlying mechanisms. In Study 1, questionnaires were collected online (based Credamo platform) offline (at a university in Southwest China) for analysis. 2, 437 valid from China modeled through platform using structural equation model. results reveal that: (1) crisis, show preference brands; (2) individuals’ perceived severity vulnerability positively influence attitudes toward (3) need control belong mediate effect.
