Background This study aimed to examine the alterations in apoptosis and autophagy placental tissues from normal pregnancies compared those affected by preeclampsia (PE) HELLP (haemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelets) syndrome. We analysed expression of autophagy-associated proteins, Beclin-1 BCL-2, human assessed their variations placentas complicated PE syndrome immunohistochemical (IHC) silico analyses.

To investigate the value of first-trimester aggregate index systemic inflammation (AISI) and other combined inflammatory markers in prediction gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) related obstetric outcomes. The data pregnant women diagnosed with GDM between September 2021 November 2024, as well an equal number control patients, were retrospectively analyzed. patients' AISI, neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR), immune-inflammatory (SII), response (SIRI) values calculated from hemogram parameters participants at 11-14 weeks gestation. clinical characteristics, laboratory results, indices, outcomes, need for neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) admission, presence composite adverse perinatal outcome (CAPO) groups then compared. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analyses performed to indices that reached statistical significance predicting GDM. group exhibited significantly higher SII AISI values, rate NICU CAPO compared (p = 0.036, p 0.011, < 0.01, respectively). age birth was lower group, while weight ROC yielded area under (AUC) 0.566 0.581 prediction, respectively 0.036 First-trimester may be useful identifying pregnancies high risk developing

ABSTRACT Objective The aim of the study was to investigate role systemic immune‐inflammation index (SII), inflammation response (SIRI), and pan‐immune value (PIV) calculated from first trimester complete blood count (CBC) in predicting preeclampsia without (PE) with severe features (PE‐SF). Methods This retrospective cohort included 126 women PE, PE‐SF, healthy, normotensive pregnancies delivered at a large tertiary referral hospital between 2018 2022. main outcome measures were SII, SIRI, PIV. Results SII scores differed significantly control versus PE PE‐SF groups, while SIRI showed significant difference groups. However, PIV values all three According receiver operating characteristic analysis performed for discriminatory power PIV, area under curve (AUC) 0.801, 0.609, 0.774 prediction 0.535, 0.701, 0751 respectively. An cutoff > 620.59×10 3 /µL (sensitivity 81%, specificity 67%) an 0.94×10 74%, 69%) had highest Conclusion Our results suggest association high increased risk future could be used as screening test improve decision making PE.

Aim: This study aims to evaluate the placental expression levels of two recently discovered proteins, adrenomedullin (ADM) and soluble endoglin (sEng), in preeclamptic pregnancies. Materials Methods: Placental tissue sections were obtained from 20 normotensive patients processed for paraffin embedding. Hematoxylin-eosin immunostaining methods applied sections, which then examined under a light microscope photographed. Results: In group, more intense pathological changes observed tissues compared control including an increase Hofbauer cells, degeneration, congestion, hemorrhage villous capillaries. Immunohistochemical analyses revealed sEng ADM both groups, with concentration these proteins cytotrophoblast syncytiotrophoblast cells. was 34.83% group 49.22% showing significant (p=0.000). 51.72% 22.08% decrease Conclusion: We suggest that trophoblast cells play indirect functional role development preeclampsia or response homeostatic disturbances it causes. believe further research is needed obtain new findings could support this hypothesis. Keywords: Placenta, Umbilical cord, Adrenomedullin, Soluble Endoglin
