In this study, we aimed to develop an absorbent for efficient removal of heavy metals. We developed a composite (BC-IOx) using biochar (BC) obtained by carbonizing rice hull, type biomass, and iron(III) nitrate nonhydrate (IO). The bonding strength between BC IO was increased through ultrasonication with high energy at 25 ℃ 2-h heat treatment process 350 ℃. Brunauer-Emmett-Teller analysis showed that BC-IOx had specific surface area, which proportional iron loading provided abundance active metal adsorption sites. This effectively removed Pb(II) As(V). addition BC-IO3 Pb(II)-contaminated water 120 min absorption capacity 90.21 mg/g from 18.12 unmodified BC. As(V) 8.33 65.34 BC-IO10. addition, the potential mechanism discussed detailed chemical physical analyses. synthesis oxide can inspire cost-effective straightforward production absorbents be utilized on large scale.

The concentration of heavy metals in road dust poses significant risks to human health and the environment. This study investigates characteristics dust, focusing on contamination level like lead (Pb), iron (Fe), arsenic (As). Road samples were collected from various locations Khulna city. They went through acid digestion determine Pb, Fe, As levels using ICP-OES, bioavailable was assessed by mixing with water. found no detectable dust. Pb concentrations varied across different sites following order: Shiromoni Industrial Area > Fulbarigate New Market Sonadanga Residential Area. Iron followed slightly orders: highest at 2.73% Area, indicating a higher potential for uptake, Fulbarigate, lowest 0.53% lower potential. Fe 62.0 µg g-1, 12450 g-1, 132 g-1 Compared other literary studies, this concluded that Khulna's comparatively high compared cities globally within Bangladesh. factor (CF), enrichment (EF), geo-accumulation index (Igeo) indicated extent ranged moderately heavily contaminated. In contrast, uncontaminated Fe. results research will enhance our comprehension metal supporting policymakers making well-informed choices reduce safeguard
