Seasonal changes, sea level rise, and global warming make flood events more frequent, which necessitates watershed management efficient use of water resources. In this context, understanding the hydrodynamic behavior basins is critical for development prevention strategies. The contributions hydrological hydraulic modeling techniques in process are among key determinants sustainable resources management. Filyos Sub-Basin, located Western Black Sea Basin, stands out as one regions where risk assessment a priority, it has two important floodplains. This study aims to analyze River Sub-Basin with methods, determine Manning roughness coefficient. study, parameters affecting river bed were analyzed using Cowan method, effects vegetation on resistance evaluated laboratory environment. Flood simulations carried four different flow rates (Q1000, Q500, Q100 Q50) HEC-RAS model, performance protection structures analyzed. findings show that significant portion existing unable meet potential flows, can cause serious damage residential agricultural areas. limited historical discharge data, such River, these provide regional planning processes. results serve reference assessment, not only but also other similar characteristics. It envisaged future research, supported by larger data sets, improve accuracy simulations. Furthermore, method model used expected contribute strategic engineering solutions minimize projects. studies, we plan further develop methodological approaches determining coefficient, address applications increase effectiveness structures.
