Electrocoagulation (EC) has gained increasing attention as an effective and environmentally friendly technique for purifying water wastewater. This review provides a comprehensive analysis of the recent literature on EC identifies new trends potentials further research. Initially, nature its operating parameters are discussed, while research analyzed using Scopus database VOSviewer software. From 1977 to 2022, 2691 articles papers water/wastewater treatment were published, with number publications from 2 in 293 2022. In past five years, most studies focused performance mechanism systems.
