Wastewater treatment plants traditionally dispose of sludge using the method landfilling and incineration, with both being carbon-intensive environmentally harmful. Converting into energy or reusable materials avoids landfills helping reduce volume waste associated pollution. Sludge recovery can offset fossil fuel use, further reducing carbon footprint sewage processes. This research explores ways to recover from sludge, a byproduct wastewater that is often considered waste. Transforming valuable resources aligns principles circular economy, where streams are repurposed, minimizing environmental impact enhancing resource efficiency. In this paper, presented by drying it in hot flue gas stream at 700 °C. The exhaust recovered an organic Rankine cycle system, which powers facilities themselves, making them more self-sustaining.
