By mimicking journalistic formats and blending real facts with fabricated ones, the deliberate intention of deceiving, fake news affects trust in media harms democratic debate. Thus, identifying characteristics news, how they differ from true their dissemination enables informing policies on digital literacy. This article represents a review literature this domain. Initially, it presents clarification main concepts, then discusses determinants susceptibility most addressed by scientific community, namely individual, social, contextual factors.
