BACKGROUND The Integrated Motivational-Volitional (IMV) model is one of the leading theoretical models suicidal thoughts and behaviour. OBJECTIVE This systematic review synthesises evidence from ecological momentary (EMA) studies to address following questions: i) Which constructs within IMV have assessed using EMA, how they assessed? ii) Do different fluctuate life? iii) What relationship between SHTBs METHODS Consistent with PRISMA guidelines, we conducted searches five databases – Web Science, Embase, MEDLINE, PsycInfo, Europe PMC Preprints inception 26th March 2024. None papers memory biases, goals, norms, or resilience EMA. Comparison intra-class coefficients (45 revealed inconsistency in, but at moderate, within-person variance all examined constructs. We found (39 concurrent associations almost life, some that entrapment, shame, rumination, belongingness, hopelessness, support impulsivity are additionally associated lagged (i.e. longitudinal) relationships. CONCLUSIONS Comparisons hindered by variation methodology, including populations studied, sampling scheme, operationalisation SHTBs, statistical approach used. findings suggest useful methodology examining risk factors SHTB, however more research needed Quality suggested several areas reporting this field might be improved.
