ChatGPT, GPT-4, and Bard are highly advanced natural language process-based computer programs (chatbots) that simulate process human conversation in written or spoken form. Recently released by the company OpenAI, ChatGPT was trained on billions of unknown text elements (tokens) rapidly gained wide attention for its ability to respond questions an articulate manner across a range knowledge domains. These potentially disruptive large model (LLM) technologies have broad conceivable applications medicine medical microbiology. In this opinion article, I describe how chatbot work discuss strengths weaknesses other LLMs routine diagnostic laboratory, focusing various use cases pre- post-analytical process.

Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots utilizing large language models (LLMs) have recently garnered significant interest due to their ability generate humanlike responses user inquiries in an interactive dialog format. While these are being increasingly utilized obtain medical information by patients, scientific and providers, trainees address biomedical questions, performance may vary from field field. The opportunities risks pose the widespread understanding of skeletal health science unknown. Here we assess 3 high-profile LLM chatbots, Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer (ChatGPT) 4.0, BingAI, Bard, 30 questions categories: basic translational biology, clinical practitioner management disorders, patient queries accuracy quality responses. Thirty each categories were posed, independently graded for degree four reviewers. was often able provide relevant about relevance varied widely, ChatGPT 4.0 had highest overall median score categories. Each displayed distinct limitations that included inconsistent, incomplete, or irrelevant responses, inappropriate utilization lay sources a professional context, failure take demographics context into account when providing recommendations, inability consistently identify areas uncertainty literature. Careful consideration both current AI is needed formulate guidelines best practices use as source biology.

The proliferation of false and misleading health claims poses a major threat to public health. This ongoing "infodemic" has prompted numerous organizations develop tools approaches manage the spread falsehoods communicate more effectively in an environment mistrust information. However, these have not been systematically characterized, limiting their utility. analysis provides characterization current ecosystem infodemic management strategies, allowing practitioners, communicators, researchers, policy makers gain understanding at disposal.A multi-pronged search strategy was used identify for combatting health-related misinformation disinformation. included scoping review academic literature; gray literature from involved communications misinformation/disinformation management; policies all U.S. state departments select local departments. Abstract This systematic review and meta‐analysis analyzed summarized the growing literature on effectiveness of chatbot‐delivered interventions in increasing uptake, intention, attitudes related to any type vaccination. We identified randomized controlled studies (RCTs), quasi‐experimental studies, non‐experimental from following platforms: PubMed, Web Science, MEDLINE, Global Health, APA PsycInfo, EMBASE databases. A total 12 eligible published 2019 2023 were summarized. In particular, one RCT showed that a tailored intervention was more effective than non‐tailored promoting seasonal influenza vaccine uptake among older adults (50.5% versus 35.3%, p = 0.002). Six RCTs included evaluate chatbot improve vaccination intentions. The pooled standard mean difference (SMD) overall attitude change 0.34 (95% confidence intervals [CI]: 0.13, 0.55, 0.001). found non‐significant trivial effect improving intentions (SMD: 0.11, 95% CI: −0.13, 0.34, 0.38). However, further evidence is needed draw precise conclusion. Additionally, study participants reported high satisfaction levels using likely recommend it others. development chatbots still nascent rooms for improvement exist.

Qualitative data analysis (QDA) tools are essential for extracting insights from complex datasets. This study investigates researchers’ perceptions of the usability, user experience (UX), mental workload, trust, task complexity, and emotional impact three tools: Taguette 1.4.1 (a traditional QDA tool), ChatGPT (GPT-4, December 2023 version), Gemini (formerly Google Bard, version). Participants (N = 85), Master’s students Faculty Electrical Engineering Computer Science with prior in UX evaluations familiarity AI-based chatbots, performed sentiment annotation tasks using these tools, enabling a comparative evaluation. The results show that AI were associated lower cognitive effort more positive responses compared to Taguette, which caused higher frustration especially during cognitively demanding tasks. Among achieved highest usability score (SUS 79.03) was rated positively engagement. Trust levels varied, preferred accuracy confidence. Despite differences, all consistently identifying qualitative patterns. These findings suggest AI-driven can enhance experiences while emphasizing need align tool selection specific preferences.

Objectives: This study aims to assess COVID-19 vaccine acceptance, uptake, and hesitancy among parents caregivers of children in Saudi Arabia during the initial rollout pediatric vaccination. Methods: An electronic survey was used collect data from participants who visited a center. The included demographic data, status their children, reasons for acceptance or rejection. Vaccine Hesitancy Scale (VHS) tool also employed attitudes toward routine childhood Multivariate binary regression analysis identify predictors actual uptake children. Results: Of 873 respondents analysis, 61.5% were 38.5% other caregivers. participants, 96.9% had received vaccine. Six hundred ninety-four accepted with main being an endorsement by Ministry Health (60%) importance going back school (55%). This study investigated whether English proficiency (EP) and self-efficacy (ESE) influence the credibility of ChatGPT-generated content (CCGEC) college students in English-medium instruction (EMI) courses. We observed a college-level EMI course called “Technical Writing Presentation”, where instructors encouraged their non-English majors to use ChatGPT for discovery learning tasks. A survey 800 showed that was primarily used providing explanations, suggesting ideas structures, preparing presentations. Analyzing data with MANCOVA procedure revealed students' EP levels did not CCGEC, ESE moderate relationship between CCGEC context. These findings suggest can be valuable tool regardless or ESE.
