During COVID-19 pandemic we evaluated short- long-term cognitive, psychological, physiological effects mindfulness-based intervention (MBI) via web-based videoconference in healthy adults. Methods Fifty participated an 8-week MBI, which comprised structured 2-h weekly group sessions. A comprehensive evaluation encompassing (verbal memory, attention processing speed, executive functions) assessments (depression anxiety symptoms, mindfulness, worries, emotion regulation strategies, well-being, interoceptive awareness sleep) was conducted. Additionally, electroencephalography (EEG) data were recorded before after MBI at 6-month follow-up (T6). Abstract Introduction Metabolic disorders (type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, obesity, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and metabolic syndrome) are leading causes of mortality disability worldwide disproportionately affect older adults relative to those younger. Digital health technologies (DHTs), such as patient monitoring, digital diagnostics, therapeutics, emerge promising tools for navigating in day-to-day life. However, their role targeting disorders, particularly among a key demographic adults, is not yet fully understood. Thus, this work aims scope the use DHTs managing adults. Methods Analysis We will conduct scoping review following recommended framework by Arksey O’Malley (1). Our search focus on three primary concepts: DHTs, plan five online databases—Cochrane, Embase, PubMed, Scopus, Web Science—to identify original research articles published between January 2014 2024. Two reviewers independently screen inclusion based predetermined criteria, separate reviewer resolve conflicts. Data be extracted using standardized form, findings synthesized reported qualitatively quantitatively. Background Older adults face barriers to specialty care, such as occupational therapy (OT), and these challenges are worse for rural older adults. While in-home video telehealth may increase access OT, adults’ health- technology-related necessitate caregiver assistance. Objective This study examines assistance with OT visits from the perspectives of practitioners at Veterans Health Administration (VHA). Methods A web-based national survey VHA about caregivers’ role in was conducted between January February 2022. Survey items were developed input subject matter experts geriatrics identified patient factors that participation; extent which caregivers assist different types tasks (technological clinical tasks); perceived facilitators of, benefits involvement. Results Of approximately 1787 eligible practitioners, 286 (16% response rate) participated. Not all required completion, resulting denominators. Most respondents female (183/226, 81%), White (163/225, 72.4%), therapists (275/286, 96.2%). Respondents 87 medical centers, catchment areas served a population 34% rural, on average (SD 0.22). participants (162/232, 69.8%) had >10 years experience serving cohort mostly aged ≥65 (189/232, 81.5%) primarily outpatient rehabilitation (132/232, 56.9%). The top necessitating involvement lack technical skills, cognitive impairment, advanced age, health-related impairments (eg, hearing or vision loss) less frequent. Technological most frequently assisted holding, angling, moving, repositioning, operating camera (136/250, 54.4%) enabling microphone setting volume (126/248, 50.8%). Conclusions Caregivers routinely patients visits, is invaluable who have complex needs. Barriers include inability assist, available caregivers.
