Background Access to digital technology is among the major social determinants of health, and divide impacts health inequality. Yet, impact connectivity on well-being psychosocial outcomes in adults has not been fully studied. Objective The aim this study was investigate association home broadband connection with middle-aged older than 45 years China. Methods A panel data design national sample China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) conducted 2015, 2018, 2020. This included 16,185 participants years. associations between (home connection), loneliness, participation, life satisfaction were assessed using mixed effects logistic regression models, adjusting for socioeconomic factors, behavioral locality. Broadband internet connectivity, feelings measured self-reported CHARLS questionnaire. Results We observed a substantial increase from 29.5% 2015 59.8% at positively correlated participation (adjusted odds ratio [AOR] 1.34, 95% CI 1.28-1.41) (AOR 1.30, 1.20-1.40), after confounding while absence associated increased loneliness 0.81, 0.77-0.86). These consistent across age, gender, groups, geographic areas. Conclusions highlights potential additional benefits beyond known advantages. Our results suggest importance expanding access enhance inclusion satisfaction. Further research needed understand broader implications connectivity.

Falls have become a crucial public health problem among older adults, especially those with hypertension. However, the current understanding of risk falls them is still insufficient. The purpose this study was to investigate factors associated and their gender differences adults hypertension in China. Based on cross-sectional data Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS) 2018 database, defined 24 possible based five dimensions Health Ecology Model. Binary Logistic Regression Model used analyze impact each factor prevalence rate China 22.60%. are variety factors. Specifically, gender, self-rated health, hearing impairment, stroke, instrumental activities daily living (IADL) disability, basic (BADL) exercise, fresh fruit taste preference significant for Among them, effects stroke exercise only female effect men findings highlight that situation requires attention, necessitating comprehensive measures prevention control.

Background Cognition disorders not only lead to adverse health consequences but also contribute a range of socioeconomic challenges and diminished capacity for performing routine daily activities. In the digital era, understanding impact exclusion on cognitive function is crucial, especially in developing countries. Objective This study aimed evaluate association between among elderly populations Methods Using data from CHARLS (China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study) 2011 2020 MHAS (Mexican & Aging 2012 2021, we defined as self-reported absence internet. Cognitive was assessed through 5 tests: orientation, immediate verbal recall, delayed serial 7s, figure recall. 2 categories: worse cognition (a categorical variable that classifies either better or compared entire cohort population) scores continuous representing raw across multiple follow-up waves). Logistic regression analyses generalized estimating equation (GEE) were used examine relationship exclusion, adjusting potential confounders, including demographics, lifestyle factors, history chronic diseases, basic activities living (BADL) disability, instrumental (IADL) abilities. Results After excluding participants with probable impairment at baseline those who did have complete assessment any given year (ie, all tests must be completed wave), total 24,065 (n=11,505, 47.81%) (n=12,560, 52.19%) included. Of these, 96.78% (n=11,135) 70.02% (n=8795) experienced exclusion. Adjusted logistic revealed individuals more likely exhibit performance both (odds ratio [OR] 2.04, 95% CI 1.42-2.99; P<.001) (OR 1.40, 1.26-1.55; P<.001). Gender age significantly modify (intervention P>.05). The fully adjusted mean differences global groups 0.98 (95% 0.70-1.28; 0.50 0.40-0.59; MHAS. Conclusions A substantial proportion older adults, particularly China, remain excluded internet access. Our examined longitudinal changes performed cross-sectional comparisons using Z-score standardization. findings suggest linked an increased risk decline adults Promoting access may help mitigate this support these populations.

Abstract Background With increasing trend of internet use in all age groups, whether can prevent frailty middle-aged and older adults remains unclear. Methods Five cohorts across the United States, England, 28 Europe countries, China Mexico were used this study. Frailty status was assessed by index based on a standard procedure. Generalized estimating equations models, random effects meta-analysis, mediation analysis utilized. Results In multicohort study, total 155,695 participants included. The proportion varied ranging from 5.56% to 83.46% Denmark. According generalized models inversely associated with frailty, pooled ORs (95%CIs) 0.72 (0.67,0.79). Additionally, association partially mediated social activities slightly pronounced aged 65 over, male, not working for payment, married or partnered, smoking, drinking, co-residence children. Conclusions Our findings highlight important role incidence recommend more engagements among adults. Grasping opportunity spread health information increase would decrease frailty.

BACKGROUND Given the health benefits of Internet use among older adults, inadequate is an urgent public issue in many countries. OBJECTIVE We aimed to determine whether visual impairment associated with a population-based sample adults. METHODS This cross-sectional study sourced data for year 2016 from Japan Gerontological Evaluation Study (JAGES). It included community-dwelling individuals aged ≥ 65 years (n =19,452 ) Japan. used multivariate logistic regression multiple imputations analyze status, daily use, and any correlations between them. RESULTS observed that 4,599 (23.6%) respondents almost daily. Even after adjusting several covariates, significant associations persisted status usage. The odds ratios (ORs) tended increase as improved (P trend < .001). adjusted ORs excellent very good who were 1.36 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.20‒1.54) 1.24 CI: 1.14‒1.35), respectively. Conversely, OR those fair/poor was 0.75 0.63‒0.88). CONCLUSIONS Visual negatively impacted by highlights need address impairments promote healthcare services become more easily accessed online.
