Mobile Applications in Breast Cancer Postoperative Care: A Scoping Review

ABSTRACT Background The utilization of mobile application in postoperative care for breast cancer patients has seen a significant rise recent years. This study aimed to synthesize the literature identify features applications. Methods scoping review was conducted using framework developed by Arksey and O'Malley. All articles published from inception until July 25, 2024, were searched PubMed, Scopus, Web Science, IEEE, Cochrane databases. quality publications evaluated mixed‐methods appraisal tool (MMAT). Results A total 999 found, which 28 studies considered this review. Out these studies, 14 used native apps, hybrid apps. Nine applications, Tracker, Tailored Education, Community Forum most repetitive features. In five various devices sensors, like Bluetooth GPS, utilized applications monitor physical activity, stress levels, heart rate, sleep patterns, calorie intake. Conclusions Mobile encompass range co‐design approach, understanding patients' required could help develop usable improve patients.

Non-pharmaceutical digital solutions supporting the quality of life of European cancer patients: a systematic literature review

Abstract Purpose we investigate (a) the diffusion of digital solutions supporting quality life in cancer patients and their caregivers across types EU countries, (b) key thematic areas on which they focus, (c) effectiveness improving with respect to traditional healthcare. Methods We searched articles from Embase, Scopus PubMed last decade, assessed according mixed methods appraisal tool. compared such tools discussed main gaps that emerged. Results 49 studies were included (31 quantitative randomized control trials, 9 non-randomized, 4 descriptive, 3 qualitative, 2 mixed-methods). observed a prevalence Netherlands Germany, breast are most targeted by single-cancer type interventions. The interventions for e-health psychophysical well-being, management physical distress, remote monitoring vitals symptoms, empowerment self-efficacy. is typically higher than healthcare, especially focusing psychosocial well-being. Conclusions This review showed growing interest aimed at making easier, healthcare more patient-centered. varies, but all well accepted among participants. Our findings provide evidence untapped potential these tools, need integration daily routine caregivers.
