Engaging
with
music
has
been
shown
to
have
a
positive
impact
on
the
quality
of
life
residents
in
care
homes,

are

anxiety,
depression

loneliness.

singing

Virtual
Reality
(VR)
choir
application
was
developed

INTRODUÇÃO:
A
realidade
virtual
(RV)
é
uma
tecnologia
interativa
com
aplicações
promissoras
na
saúde
mental
de
idosos.
No
entanto,
tal
tema
subexplorado
literatura
científica,
o
que
justificou
a
realização
desta
revisão
escopo
para
mapear
as
evidências
disponíveis,
abordagens
utilizadas
e
lacunas
orientarão
futuras
pesquisas.
METODOLOGIA:

Abstract
As
global
populations
age,
the
wellbeing
of
older
adults
becomes
increasingly
critical,
particularly
amidst
loneliness
epidemic
and
COVID-19-induced
social
isolation.
Aged
care
residents
are
especially
vulnerable
to
isolation,
which
associated
with
increased
risks
anxiety,
depression,
dementia,
ultimately
leading
a
diminished
quality
life.
This
study
explores
observed
effect
virtual
reality
(VR)
experiences
on
daily
lives
aged
residents,
including
those
mild
cognitive
impairment.
Conducted
across
two
residential
facilities
in
regional
Victoria,
Australia,
involved
34
before,
during,
after
VR
sessions
using
Maastricht
Electronic
Daily
Life
Observation
tool
(MEDLO-tool).
The
featured
guided
travel
designed
for
adults.
Results
demonstrated
significant
increases
residents'
engagement
physical
activity
levels,
rising
from
baseline
during
experience
remaining
elevated
post-VR.
Physical
effort
also
substantially,
92.9%
previously
inactive
exerting
session.
Emotional
improvements
were
evident,
mood
reduced
signs
agitation.
Facilitated
by
lifestyle
officers,
interactions
became
more
frequent
post-VR,
83.6%
socially
engaging
conversations

findings

Abstract
Background
Virtual
reality
(VR)
group
activities

inactivity
