Introduction. Herpesvirus infections — in particular, those caused by human betaherpesvirus 6A/B (HHV-6A/C), are a serious problem at the present time due to their ubiquity, polymorphism of manifestations, lifelong persistence body with possibility reactivation, and need for comprehensive diagnostics form infection. especially when occurring children recurrent respiratory diseases. Objective. To propose modern method differential diagnosis (DD) active latent forms HHV-6A/B infection optimize patient management tactics. Materials methods. build discriminant model, 152 patients aged 1 month 17 years inclusive were included study, 112 them making up training sample, while 40 comprised test sample. A dichotomous variable was taken as response variable: ( n = 89), 2 23). 27 potential predictors considered. The sample consisted children. Statistical processing performed using Microsoft Excel StatSoft Statistica 7.0 Results. developed prognostic model DD children, which takes into account severity fever, presence cough, absolute neutrophil count value threshold cycles DNA, is characterized its high sensitivity (91.3%) specificity (94.4%). presented example reflects step-by-step use model. Conclusions . can be used practice identifying lymphoproliferative syndromes detection DNA blood, substantiate indications immunotropic therapy.
