This study aims to determine the critical thinking profile of high school students on renewable energy materials using a mixed method consisting qualitative descriptive in form interview results and quantitative test result analysis at SMA Negeri 1 Sembawa, South Sumatra Province. The stated that are not used doing problems rarely do activities can stimulate their skills. for learners showed low average score 35.12. obtained indicator giving simple explanation was 33.80, building basic skills 38.19, further 21.53. Science Literacy Profile of Junior High School Students on Context, Competencies, and Knowledge

Objective: This study's preliminary goal is to describe junior high school students' proficiency in scientific literacy. It based on exams that use questions measure a student's literacy, adhering the guidelines established by Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).
